If the drive is detected correctly the problem was probably caused by improper shutdown or un-mount (unplugging the cable without dismounting first, etc.). While the Disk Utility says there is a 'Invalid B-Tree node size and it needs to be repaired, Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit.'
But when I click Repair Disk, it says '1 HFS volume checked: 1 volume could not be repaired because of an error'
I have upgraded the firmware from LaCie, and followed the Troubleshooting tips and it is still not mounting.
Lacie Drive Won T Mount Windows 10
I have a LACie Porsche design Firewire Hard drive that has failed to mount, both on my OS9 and OSX computers. I have changed the position of the daisy change ( I have another drive that does mount), did the lacie update (wasn't needed), unhooked all wires to it and turned the on/off switch on the back. The internal drive mounted. But somewhere in the midst of it all, I disconnected my Lacie external HD without ejecting it. I thought nothing of it until I attempted to remount it and it failed to mount. I then tried on my new MBP (also SL). It wouldn't mount. So I tried the whole shut down/reboot regimen that made my internal drive re-mount.
